Buying art for yourself or friends and customers can be a lot of fun but can also be a process accompanied by many questions. We will help you along every step of the way if you are uncertain about which pieces to choose, the nature of the art like sizes or medium, how payment and shipping work or if you would like to commission artwork- just email us and we’ll be there to answer your questions.

National shipping

For national shipping we use Wells Fargo, a well-known local shipping agent with which we have been working since the gallery has opened its doors. Depending on where in Kenya you live, transport of your art will take approximately 2 – 4 business days. For packaging please read below ‘Care in packaging’.

Shipping fees
Shipping costs are charged in addition to the purchase price of your chosen pieces of art and we will be giving you cost quotes within 2-3 business days. This cost includes secure packaging and door-to-door delivery.

International shipping

Shipping process
International shipping of large pieces is handled by Schenker DB, an internationally established shipping agent with lots of experience in handling of fragile cargo. With exception of very large pieces, all our art is shipped by air to avoid long delivery times.

Shipping fees
Shipping fees are charged in addition to the cost of art. Every quote is different, depending on fixed (e.g. base price per kg) and variable tariffs (e.g. fuel charges). This is why we have to ask for a quote for every piece of art and cannot give a one-off price. Quotes should be available within 2-3 business days of request and will be sent to you as soon as we have received it.

Included in this cost are secure packaging, fumigation of wood crate (requirement of EU and US import laws), necessary paperwork and depending on quote shipment to your closest sea- or airport, or door-to-door delivery.

Your artwork will be handled with as much care as possible and will be shipped to you well wrapped and protected. Unframed pieces ship either in a sturdy reinforced cardboard “crush-proof” or in a plastic tube to avoid damage to the art while in shipment. Framed art ships in hard cardboard, wrapped in blankets and bubble wrap and the entire framed piece securely fastened with strapping. Should you have purchased a sculpture, a custom made wooden crate protects the piece, which also is wrapped in blankets and packaging material and strapped in securely.

National buyers can either pay by bank transfer, or M-Pesa (0706 629 655). 

International buyers can pay via bank transfer.

Please note we are not able to accept credit card payments via telephone as banking regulations in Kenya ask for the signature of the customer.

When will my art piece ship? 

After your payment has arrived your art will ship within 2-4 business days. Duration of delivery depends on where you live, but generally pieces with destination USA or Europe ship within 7 – 10 business days. 

Where is my order?
To make sure you always know where your newly acquired piece of art is during shipping all consignments are equipped with a tracking code. As soon as your order ships, we’ll send you an e-mail confirmation with a tracking number included in the e-mail. Additionally, we are in close contact with the shipping agent to make sure we always are able to communicate status of shipment to you at any given time.
