Country: Sudan  •   Medium: Acrylics

Although Baharaddin ‘Bahar’ Adam has travelled the world, he likes to use the colour palette of his homeland of North Sudan for his bright abstract artworks.

His artistic journey has taken him to various countries, among others Japan, Kenya, USA, Syria, Egypt, France and Canada. Whereas these have acted as eye openers, Bahar’s style has not greatly veered away from that of his homeland of Sudan.

Acrylics are his preferred medium as he looks to convey his heartfelt messages about the community he was brought up in. His pieces concern themselves with the social, political and economical state of his people.

Bahar was born in Malakal, Sudan and holds a B.A. in Industrial Design from the College of Fine and Applied Arts, Sudan University of Science and Technology, Khartoum, Sudan.

Working previously as a designer for companies in Sudan and Egypt, Bahar started exhibition in Khartoum in 1996 and has not looked back since.
